  • Acceptable or NOT acceptable?

Land of lakes makes a heavy whip cream that has 0 carbs and 0 sugars, can I have like half a can a day

What about the atkins shakes? The vanilla has 2 carbs, 2 fiber, and 1 gram of sugar for a whole shake at 150 cals.

I am a college student, work full time, and take care of my aunt so this is something I would use daily (say breakfast), I only have time to prepare meals a day and most of day I am away from home.

    THANKS YOU GUYS!

    Re: Acceptable or NOT acceptable?

I responded to your question about the cream on your other post.

As for the shakes - as some other posters said on that thread, the shakes are often found to be a problem by other members and most people feel they are better left till later on your Atkins journey.

You quoted the carb content but didnt mention the other nutrition info.

I did a quick check on the Atkins company website and found nutrition info which sowed that they contain quite a lot of protein (about twice as much as fat) so I feel that if you 'ate' just these for a meal with no vegetables or extra fat that you would be overdoing the protein.

Remember, Atkins is NOT a high protein way of eating, but a high fat one - the usually mentioned ratios for induction are 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs.

Dr Atkins told us in DANDR
make sure you are not consuming excess quantities of protein. When eaten to excess, protein converts to glucose.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
