look in the dairy case ofr heavy whipping cream in the carton or whiiping cream

Orange crush in cana da is SPlenda sweetened as is Diet rite

you aren't limited by anything other then your imagination in your poicks as the acceptable foods lists is very large.

read your book and see what you can have from the lists in chapter 11 of your DANDR

    happy low carbing.

I fell in to this thinking way myself last year after I had been on Atkins 5-6 months. "It's so limited, I eat the same thing, etc" but know what? I went off Atkins for almost a year and I was still eating the same things over and over, except they were high carb junk food LOL.

Challenge yourself to try a new veggie every week. Try a new recipe every week. Get a couple cookbooks for low carb. I love my George Stella Livin' Low Carb. Dana Carpender also has cookbooks, like 15-Minute Low-Carb Recipes and 500 Low-Carb recipes. If you don't cook much, the 15-min one is pretty good. I find myself using the 500 low carb one more.

I also used to try and make a dinner for my family, and one for me. I decided poo on that and have switched to all Atkins at night. If they want to eat something hot, they eat what I cook or they can just make a sandwhich. I love my family, but I've spent years catering to their tastes. Now they can cater to mine... and as it turns out I haven;t gotten one actual complaint yet. Son loves things like the mock fried rice (made out of cauliflower), biker's goddess pizza, etc.

Give it a try. Don't be like me and not try new things just because they're different.

Atkins is very limited in terms of junk food. But in the good whole natural foods it's not.

Use your 14 day Induction to break out of the junk food cycle.

          I'm in Ontario too..

2big is right...there is both Diet Crush Cream soda, and Orange here (i get mine at Loblaws, No frills, IGA. We don't have Diet Rite here (i'm going to florida next week and can't wait to try it everyones always talking bout it! LOL).

check the pudding cup section of your grocery store, or Walmart (got mine there yesterday) , and look for 'Juicy Gels' premade gelatin cups. The Sugar Free once are just over $1 for 4 and are sweetened with splenda, I love them. They come in orange and cherry.

For cream, you can choose either 'Table Cream' by Sealtest (18% mf) or Whipping Cream. They're redily available at all grocery stores where the milk is. Whipping cream will whip up to whipped cream with a mixer but table cream will not.

Bacon, look for bacons that aren't maple flavoured. I have found sugar free bacon in the past though i'm sorry I can't remember the brand name. Maple Leaf Turkey Suasages at No frills are sugar free and are awesome! They're large sausages not b'fast sized ones and are in teh fresh meat section.

          Hope this helps a bit?

Well, I'm not from Canada, so I don't know if this is going to help or not. But, here goes.

Can you get the Crystal Light in the bottles that are sweetened with Splenda and some Knox unflavored gelatin? If so, then you can make your own jello. Sugar free Kool Aid would work nicely also. Just follow the directions on the package of gelatin.

            Good luck!

I cannot find nitrite free bacon, but Maple Leaf 33% less salt bacon is sugar free. Almost every Canadian grocery store carries it. Watch your sweetener intake cause we're only allowed 3 servings per day, and my understanding is a can of pop is 1.5 servings of artificial sweetener.

I make my own ice tea with splenda. I dip the tea bags for 30seconds in boiling water to get rid of the caffine. I sweeten it with splenda and cut fresh lemons into it. Its very good and acceptable on Atkins. I agree with the last posters. Your only limited to your imagination. Try to remember your goals, try to remember its only food. Its only fuel. Reprograming is a great thing.

Another alternative (although not Spenda sweetend) is Presidents Choice Free & Clear (Peach, Strawberry, Kiwi etc) low cal sparkling water. It's sodium and sugar free, sweetened with Aspartame. I might have this once a week, but would not have it on a regular basis. I have purchased in Ontario at Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws and Price Chopper.
