  • Things I've learned during induction...

I'm coming to the end of 3 weeks of induction and have made much progress. So far, the progress that I've made off of the scale is what keeps me motivated. I decided to make a list of the things I've learned during my induction time.

    1) I CAN live without Diet Coke.

    2) Brussels sprouts aren't that bad after all.

    3) It is possible to have no appetite for a whole day, yet eat like a pig.

    4) There is hope for my skin (getting clearer every day.)

    5) Bacon is beautiful!

    6) I don't really need a nap every afternoon.

    7) The scale is no longer a scary thing on the bathroom floor.

    Mashed cauliflower tastes really good.

    9) My nutritionist doesn't always know what's best for me to eat.

    10) Dr. Atkins rules!

So, what have YOU learned during induction?

    You are so right!

-I learned that breakfast is not a bad thing and now i love it.

-I too can live without Diet Coke! Yeah!

-Cooking at home can be fun, instead of driving though a fast food restaurant

-This forum can be addictive, but is such a great support during this diet.

    - I learned how amazing this diet/lifestyle really is!

      What great posts!!!! Thank you!!

I've learned that we can't do this alone ... we need Dr. Atkins and his good work.

This bulletin board is the best value we have ... the information, the friendships, the resources, the ideas, the menu options, but most of all the support!

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

Re: Things I've learned during induction...

I also have learned a whole lot about myself!!! I am not the weak person I always thought I was and I can succeed at something if it actually works. I love this and I have learned that this is a way of life for me and I feel so much better knowing it. I started on September 15 and have lost 23 pounds and much more inches and I just can't wait for goal to come. I have a ways to go but I know I can do it!!

Re: Things I've learned during induction...

I have learned that carbs make me eat to feed my emotions..I don't snack on Atkins.

I have learned that it really isn't that dissapointing to turn down something nice...especially when afterwards the person who DID eat it says it wasn't that great.

I have learned that I like salad!

And I haven't felt bloated since I began

What a great post! I love all of the "I learned.." very inspiring to me when I am starting day 1 after many years since the first time on it.

                  Keep up the good work!

                    I have learned
-If I don't distribute my carbs fairly evenly over the day, I may cheat in the evening!

-I am much more efficient at getting things done when I have the energy to do them, and this WOE allows that

-How well water combats water retention

Edited to add: And I have learned that cheating causes a huge swing in emotions, water retention, and a general feeling of yuckiness. It ain't worth it!

I learned that my boyfriend doesn't hate fish - he just needed the right fish cooked the right way. (Tilapia with parmesan, btw, so if you don't like fish, that's the ticket! ^^)

I learned that you can make french toast with pork rinds!!! O_O!!

Actually, come to think of it.... I learned how to cook! XD!!

I've learned that I DO have self-control! Before Atkins I thought I was a gonner. I was horrible.

I've learned that there are so many resources and people to help you along the way. If it wasn't for this board I probably would've given up a long time ago

Veggies have now made their way into my life, and they're great!

I've learned to cook! I still suck at it, but hey I am learning every day.
