    Good morning all,
I am stuck at 190 since last Thursday. I lost 3 pounds right off. I am in ketosis and currently suffering from induction flu. I have been exercising, nothing to vigerous. I have been struggling with the desire to binge esp. on carbs and sweets. So far I have not strayed. I do need to drink more water, and perhaps eat less. I have been eating alot instead of eating sweets (my weakness) I will eat protein. I hope this flu passes I have a lot to do.

There's a sticky on this forum with a link to it - read "Weight Loss Is Not Linear." I strongly suggest you read it.

I will go weeks with no change, then WHOOSH, pounds drop off. It's frustrating but that's the way it works for me.

If you are following the plan, the pounds (and inches) WILL come off - just not to our exact schedule!

The flu should not last very long. How long have you had it?
Yes remember to drink, drink and drink. I don't go anywhere without my water bottle.
Also Atkins is a high fat, moderate protein diet. So when you snack don't forget fat. And don't worry about amounts the first couple of weeks.

Thanks for the advice. Skeptika23 I did read the thread thanks. Liv, I only drink water so there isn't a softdrink I need to give up, with that said I do find it hard to drink so much I simply forget to. Also I already feel better this evening.

Do not eat protein if you are craving carbs. Dr. Atkins wrote that excess dietary protein is converted to sugar, which is eventually stored as FAT. So eating more protein is the wrong thing to do.

Instead, eat a HIGH FAT food, like cheese, or a food is HIGH FAT-moderate protein, like eggs, if you are craving carbs.

And only eat the amount of food that satisfies your hunger. Don't eat less than that amount because you'll only over-eat with your next meal or snack.
