  • Im coming back again!

    hi guys,

I almost managed the two week induction back in July had lost about 6lbs then had some relationship issues in other words i got dumped so i went off the diet because i wasnt eating at all i was too upset i lost almost a stone including the six from induction and looked great but as i got over the boyfriend the biscuits and crisps and mayo and milky coffee and toast became my friends again!

I am back to my 135lbs (9.5stones) and really want to lose the stone again I am feeling more positive about it now and want to be in maintanance for christmas.

My question is - should i start first thing tomorrow or wait until the weekend is over and start on a monday? I know this is a silly question but the weekend means takeaways and alcohol and i dont know if its a bad time to start a diet?!?!?

Any quick tips would be great too!

    Thanks guys
There is a skinny girl inside me screaming to get out but the carbs wouldnt let her....I want to know what it feels like not to have to breathe in to look slimmer all the time...I want to breathe out and not look 6mths pregnant..

    Welcome back!

If I were you, I'd prepare my house to change over to the Atkins way of eating before I made the change, so perhaps spending the weekend getting ready is the way to go. Get all of your tempting foods out, figure out your replacement for your old food habits (like the takeaway you mention), read Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution(2002), go shopping for your new foods, spend time here looking at all the delicious recipes...

That way you're preparing for the change.

Also - I wouldn't think of this as a diet, but it really is a comprehensive way of eating over the long haul - you're changing your ways, girl! Diets are temporary!

Personally I vote for starting today. Many people who put it off to Monday or after this or that usually finds other excuses as to why they have to put it off and then never starts. (That was me two years ago BTW )
But when you are ready is the best time. You need to make the decision fully.

See, I was thinking of it as preparing your house before your mother-in-law comes to stay...

You could also start Monday, and use the weekend to review your book and make your food purchases for induction. That way, you can prepare, and the book will keep you mindful of starting on Monday.
