I'd probably do another week of being strict, then straight onto OWL. It will just help with cravings and getting you into ketosis.

Induction is only to get you into a fat burning metabolism. Nothing else really. The weight you lose during the first two weeks will help you determine your metabolic resistance to weight loss, which helps determine how easily (or difficult) it will be for you to lose weight, period. That's why we recommend everyone do a "clean" Induction: following the rules, eating only what's on the list, exercising, drinking the daily water requirement, etc. Once the two weeks are up, they're up and you can never truly "redo" the 14 day process because your body is now a different "machine" so to speak.

As for staying on Induction or moving onto OWL, again, Induction is only to get you into ketosis. The folks who stay on it longer are usually the people with alot (meaning more than 50 pounds) to lose.

From what I've seen here these last two years on the board, the people who move onto OWL, seem to have a better time at losing weight. I think that's partly to do with the boredom factor and I think that it's partly to do with the fact that your body is very adaptable and will adapt to different situations in order to survive. I've read many people "fall off Atkins" because they've gotten bored with the limited food choices in Induction or they've gotten some silly idea in their heads that Induction is the only weight loss phase of Atkins. So they fall off because they can't stand eating "all that meat all the time" or that they "really miss fruit and grains". Posh! If they bothered to really read and understand how this WOE is designed they would have moved onto OWL and avoided 99% mof their drama/trauma. We've, also, had members here who do the extended Induction, hit a real plateau, and only begin to lose again by moving onto OWL because they increased their carbs and began eating other foods.

The choice is really yours. So read the "DAY 15" stickie, re-read Chapters 12-14 in DANDR 2002. The only hard rule about moving on is that the last 5-10 pounds must be lost in Pre-Maintenance.

Good luck to you and see you either in the Extended Induction Forum or on OWL.
