  • Hello

Well, I am taking the plunge to the new way of eating starting tonight! Okay, well, technically I have already eaten for the day and will be starting in the morning but I like to think I am already starting. I am excited to be starting this...but terribly frightened of another failure. I am hoping for a lifetime way of eating and I hope to become healthier for so many reasons.

So here goes! Thanks for the great messages that I know will help me out a lot, especially these first few days!

Hi Sweetpea and welcome to ADBB! and to the wonderful world of Atkins way of life. Please don't focus on past failures, cause if we did I wouldn't be here. I failed at too many diets to count, but Atkins is a way of life

Now, the first important step you can take if you haven't done so yet, is to read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution or as it's known around here as simply DANDR. The book will help you understand what to eat, why it works, and how this way of eating can have a profound affect on your life. It isn't always easy and it does take work and determination, but it is rewarding. Coming here, reading through the threads, the stickys found at the top of every board and the FAQ section will lead to a wealth of information. And it's great that you posted cause the support here is wonderful. You've taken a great first step by posting, so keep it up :icondance'

Welcome and I'm looking forward to hearing how your day, and weeks go. ':wave'[/i]

Thanks for the replies! It is so good to know that people are here who have been there and had success...and that you care! It means a lot.

I have read the book, several times over the past week. I have been doing a lot of research to prepare and get all the tools and info to help me to succeed in this new WOE. It is going to be very hard. Currently my husband is in dental school and money is extremely tight, so it will definatley be a challenge to find foods that are on the induction list and still stay in my $50 a week budget for the family. So I am just hoping that my bargain hunting will pay off!

Thanks for all the well wishes.
