hey everyone...this place is awsome, and the people? well the best! i came here so i can get some support and motivation since i dont get any from my family...todaysmy day 4...yayy!! but i'm kinda confused and needed some questions answered...

    1. While working out, is it true that if you sweat more you lose more weight, even though your workout is not too intense? cuz thats what my personal trainer once told me (2 yrs ago)(i drink plenty of water before, during and after)

    2. 4. My last question is that i plan to lose weight very quickly, 10pounds in 2 weeks of induction, are there any tips and advices in order to make that possible? a frend of mine lost 12pounds during inducton, and the total weight she wanted to lose was 18pounds!

    3. is there a limit to how many eggs i can eat in a day? is 4 eggs a day ok? (not everyday though)

    4. is it ok if i do the same workout for 2 weeks twice a day? i have a workout video that i brought here and i have nothing else availble so i just do that...will i hit plateau?

    5. i was ok for the past 3 days, no major cravings but i'd crave food wen my family would eat in front of me, but today i'm craving food, like bread and SWEETSSS..wat should i do?

    6. you guys are simply the best with motivation and support...thank you soo much!

Hi and welcome. I'm glad you found us. :wave

    1. Sweating:

I find that if I am in a hot, humid environment, I sweat "more" than if I'm in a dry, cool environment. So I'm really don't buy that "sweating more = more calories burned". You might lose weight---water weight, but not fat weight. It's really your heart rate that you should be paying attention to. Read Chapter 22 in DANDR 2002. Dr. Atkins explains it quite clearly.

    2. "Rapid" weight loss:
Most people can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight they need to lose during the first 14 days of Induction. So, for a person with 10 pounds to lose, they can expect to lose 1/2 to 1 pound. A person with 100 pounds to lose can expect to lose 5-10 pounds.

While you might be able to lose all of your weight during the 14 day period. Atkins is not designed to be a "quick fix" and shouldn't be used as a "quick fix" if you intend to keep those pounds off.

    3. Egg limit
The Atkins Center used to say 3-4 eggs daily were fine during Induction. The problem is most people don't that that eggs do contain carbohydrates. About 0.6 grams carbs for a USDA Grade A Large egg, about 1 gram for a USDA Grade A Extra Large egg. So if you do eat eggs, remember to count the carbs.

    4. Same workout
That depends on your body. Some folks will easily adapt to repetitive movements and will do them more efficiently (ie: won't burn as many calories). Some folks won't. I can't predict what will happen to you, so add variety if you can. Something as simple as running or jogging up and down flights of stairs is good aerobic exercise.

    5. Cravings
Lots of ways to deal with cravings. First make sure it really is hunger as opposed to thirst so drink a couple of glasses of water. Wait 30 minutes and see if you are still hungry. You can do exercise, instead of succumbing to your craving--go out for a walk, lift weights, do push ups or sit ups. In DANDR 2002, Dr. Atkins mentions a dietary supplement called "glutamine" to help with the cravings. I've never taken it, so I'm not familiar with the dosage, so look it up in the book.
