  • Switching from Weight watchers to atkins?

So I have been doing weight watchers since the end of Aug and I have lost 23 lbs...but I am getting pretty bored and I am binging more than ever...so I thought maybe I should give atkins a shot to get rid of all these cravings and drop some weight...anyone ever done this before? Do you think I will gain or lose weight switching? Any suggestions....please comment!

I joined WW last year and lost 10 lbs. in a month but I just couldn't survive on their measley portions of light-weight foods. I was always hungry. But the food on Atkins is filling and although you will miss some things like cereal and soup until you move up the rungs of OWL, it's well worth the effort. There are so many great recipes for low carb living and it always fills you up and turns off your appetite so you're never starving but feel true hunger maybe for the first time in years. The foods on WW are just smaller portions of the very foods that made you fat in the first place, like bread and pasta. Once you eliminate them from your diet, you won't even miss them at all.

Please try our way of life, WOL, because I think you'll like it. Remember we are here to help you all the way. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Hi there and congrats on your 23 lb loss. That's really awesome!
I'm pretty sure that if you switch to Atkins and follow the plan as it's meant to be followed, you'll continue to lose. It's a programme that really works well when correctly done.
You might find that you don't get such an initial fast loss as some do, as you've been on a weight loss programme for a while now, but the direction should certainly be good: "Downward, ever downward"... well at least until goal

Hope you decide to give this a try. I'm willing to bet you'll love it!

Re: Switching from Weight watchers to atkins?

I switched from WW to Atkins because I was always starving on WW. I was filling up on "light" foods that were filled with carbs and I was always tired and hungry. I only had like 21 points per day at my heaviest. I'm so much happier on Atkins and I've lost more weight in 2 months than I did in 4 on WW. Good luck. I imagine if you do this correctly, the weight will continue to come off.

I have more of the same to say, I tried WW and I was so hungry I would end up binging or eating sweets. I couldn't live life as hungry as I was on that diet. I find I loose weight much more rapidly and easily on Atkins, I think you will find the same to be true.
