there is nothing wrong with staying on induction longer than the 2 weeks recommended, however induction is not meant to be long term or the only phase of the diet. many people do an extended induction depending on how much they have to lose. however, it is important to move through the phases of the diet to learn how you body reacts to foods as you add them back into your diet. if you are satisfied with the foods available on induction, or you don't feel comfortable to add anything back into your diet yet by all means you can stay on it a little longer. however if you become bored with your food choices or your weight loss slow or stalls, you should really consider moving onto OWL. many people find after doing an extended induction for a while their weight loss slows down and by moving onto OWL their weight loss begins again. there is no set schedule for moving up the rungs, you can do it at your own pace. rung 1 is only adding 5 grams more of the veggies you are allowed in induction, so it's really not that much different than induction. whatever you decide to do, i wish you much success.
