  • What am i doing wrong? Please review my menu.

    wI am on day 21 and total that i have lost is ONLY 8 pounds!! I'm really starting to get frustrated. I have never been without eating tortillas,beans, breads,fruits sodas or junk food this long, i thought by changing that by now i be down 20 pounds at least. I read others threads and theirs some that have even lost 15 pounds in 4 DAYS! maybe this program is not for me? since the last posting i have started drinking more water and eating more veggies i haven't started walking or working out cause its just so hard with the new born and a 4 yr old but i hope to start in the next two weeks when i go back to work. could that be it? the exercise?

    here my meal please review:
    day 1

    2 scrmbld eggs
    w/ 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese
    5 strips of bacon
    all cooked with butter

    about a 1/2 cup of romaine lettuce
    less than 1/2 cup of cucumbers
    1tbs of ranch

    2 bowls of homemade meatball soup (caldo de albondigas)
    it had carrots and celery
    and i put 1/2 avocado.

    and lots and lots of WATER!!

    day 2

    2 scrmbld eggs w/homemade salsa
    1 hot dog

    tuna salad w mayo

    1 bag of pork rinds

    1 bologna

    not a great day but hardly no carbs.

    veggies will help. If you have a vitamin deficiency, that can stall you out too.

    Carb levels are very low, so you should be in ketosis. Do you have the strips or any of the symptoms?

    Good to see you are drinking water. soft drinks with artificial sweeteners can slow you down.

    Meatball soup sounds GOOD!!!
    How about medications? Are you on any?

      There may be hidden sugars in the hot dog's, bologna, and even the bacon. I personally find it hard to find bacon and lunch meat with no added sugar in the ingrediants. Carrots are a no-no. Avacodos slow weight loss, and the pork rinds are great but too much of them you may gain water weight since they are high in salt. 8lbs is still good compared to any other diet, so don't beat yourself up too much, just keep an eye on the exact ingrediants, even if it says 0 carbs. You will do it! Keep it up!

          You know i do feel I'm loosing inches and u can really tell in my face (alot less chubby cheeks) but on the scale well its not showing much. I'm hoping its this old rusted freaking scale my father in law let me borrow... lol but i doubt it. oh gosh okk thanks for all the advice i'll keep on doing it see what happends.

            It would help if you told us more about yourself, like how tall you are and how much weight you have to lose. The less you have to lose, the slower the loss.

            And too, you may not be eating enough. I would recommend more salads and try to keep your calorie count around 1200-1400. If you go into starvation mode, you won't lose much weight.

            And 8 pounds in 3 weeks isn't that bad considering that most people recommend losing 1 to 2 lbs a week so don't give up.

              Prettyvivi, don't trust your scale! Trust your clothes and your mirror! Two years ago when I first did this diet, I lost alot of weight and it left my face and shoulders first. Don't be discouraged; you lost a little over 2 lbs a week, I would say that is a great accomplishment!

              FYI - The bologna might have corn syrup solids in it.

                How new is your newborn and are you nursing? Both of those will impact my ideas.

                  Okay, 8lbs in 21 days is not bad at all. That is for the most part right on target. How much do you weigh Vivi? You do not show any stats, but the less you have to lose the slower it is going to come off. Why assume you are doing anything wrong? Saying you hoped to lose 20 lbs by now is a bit unrealistic. That would be a pound a day. While you may be able to tweek your menu for better results, do not get frustrated. ANY LOSS IS A SUCCESS!
                  Believe me I wish my loss was going faster. But I am losing and that is the main thing.

                    i need to figure out how to post my weight updates so that it shows below my thread like everyone elses.

                    anyways.. i am 31 yrs old i am about 5'4 i started out at 170 n since yesterday i weigh 163.

                    you know i think that might be it im starving myself!

                      my baby is 3 months old tomorrow, i know its unrealistic its just i see it on others threads and i think I'm doing something wrong. But your right 8 pounds is some success.
                      if you could guide me a little on how i could change my menu around to have better success i would so appreciate it. i just really need to get going on exercising also but running after my 4 yr old Viviana and caring of my colicky newborn it can get a litttleee tiring and over whelming

                        Personally I cannot imagine finding time to exercise with two small children. I used to try and nap when my kid napped just so I would have enough energy to last.
                        I think your best bet would be to get a few small free weights, maybe a stability ball, and some workout videos and fit whatever you can fit in whenever you can fit it in. You can pick up the weights whenever you feel like it and/or do some work with the ball. When you can sneak in more time then pop in a video.

                          Hi Prettyvivi. My suggestion would be to eat a bit more vegetables and less food with so much salt (like bacon, bologna, hotdogs, pork rinds). Eat regular meals - having carbs (from veggies) at all of them. Carrots are not allowed in induction so make sure you check that list. But you are doing fine losing wise. We are all different as to how we lose. And some hormones are probably still working over that body of yours.
