MySkinnyMission, don't be scared you'll do fine...

First of all congrats on you success so far!

Regarding OWL (on-going weightloss), many people move on through the rungs of OWL and have great success. It sounds like you have the book. Chapter 14 covers OWL. During the first week you add 5 grams of carbs to your daily intake from the veggies category ~ more salad or veggies from the acceptable foods list. During induction you're allowed 20 grams per day. The first week on rung one you can have 25 grams of carbs per day. After a week on rung one you can progress to rung two or you can add more veggies so your intake is 30 grams of carbs per day.

The idea of ongoing weightloss is two-fold: 1) Find your CCLL (Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing) ~ then number of carbs your body can take in daily and still lose weight and 2) Find out how different foods affect you and your weightloss.

I hope this helps! If you have any more questions just ask there is sooooo much knowledge on the board just waiting to be shared.

There's nothing to be scared of. OWL is the most exciting part of Atkins -- you get out of the induction bubble, and you really start to know your body and how it reacts to different foods. It is what makes Atkins a lifestyle and not a fad diet.

Personally, I don't lose very much on induction. OWL fits me much better, especially rung 1 -- those veggies really help a lot!

I generally lose more of OWL. I am in week three now and doing my veggie thing! Hopefully I will see more movement on the scale.
