Re: 22 pounds gone in 5 days. Is that even possible???

    wow, congrats!!!

On the other hand-- this is dangerous. When people lose a lot of weight really quickly they say to themselves "omg i lost 20 pounds in the first week!, I have 100 to lose, so I should be done in 5 weeks!!!"

    Not so.

I know you probably don't think this, and it's pretty obvious that you can't expect to lose 22 pounds every five days, but sometimes it gets into the back of our head and we get unrealistic expectations for the rest of the diet.

I hope you're very happy with your results so far, and that with that happiness, you will be content with any plateau or slow weightloss you may incur in the future.

    Cheers!

I am on my 9th day of Induction and have lost 17 lbs so far. Yesterday and today I have been at the same weight so it might be slowing down now, but what a great motivation for me!! And my clothes are totally feeling looser now...so exciting!! Great job, I know that this isn't the easiest phase, but obviously worth it!!

Good job!!! Congratulations on doing so well on the induction. With that kind of encouraging results you know it can work for you, if you just stay on track. Great job.

OMG I feel like such a ditz. I look into the thread and see all your great responses, encouragment, and questions. But I didn't see the 2nd page so I just assuemd I had the few posts on page one until I hit the arrow. Duh.
I am still finding the number a bit unbelievable and can't wait to go to the Drs next week to dbl check..but I'm talking it for now and feeling good.

The way I do my taco salad is - arrange cheese in a circe (nuke it), loosen from pate but keep in place - then add toppings, grnd meat, lettuce, tomatoe, sour cream, a bit of guc or avocado and wholla - i think induction friendly but pls do your own counts.

Re: 22 pounds gone in 5 days. Is that even possible???

I got the taco salad recipe below from this forum on a Induction Recipe Thread and had it the other nigth and again for lunch the next day and it was so good I didnt even notice there was no shell. I cant wait to make it again!

                TACO SALAD
Saute 2 pounds of ground beef until brown (make sure you break it up really good) and then drain the fat (otherwise it will be greasy)
                Add:
                1 tsp garlic powder
                1 tsp onion powder
                2 T cumin
                2 T chili powder
hot sauce if you like it really spicy (check your labels!)
                salt and pepper to taste
1 can of diced tomatoes with no added sugar (I used Hunts Petite Diced, they make other kinds with green chilies that I bet would be good)
You can also add some chopped onion or peppers to this if you want. I don't personally.

Then after you add everything add 6 cups off water and cook on medium to low heat until all the water evaporates. This makes about 4-5 individual servings.

After that I measure out 2 cups of romaine lettuce and put the taco meat on top and then top with grated cheese (make sure you grate your own - package grated cheese is coated with potato starch).

I don't like ranch dressing or sour cream so I eat this without dressing or just with a little bit of lime juice on it but if you like those it would go well with either (again, remember to check the labels.) Also, keep in mind that sour cream is a special category food so quantities are limited. Sometimes if I feel like splurging I will make some homemade guacamole to go on top. Avocados are special category too so be careful with that. Also prepackaged guac often has added sugar so when in doubt, make it yourself. Enjoy!

The recipe did not have the counts with it so I just enter in Fitday the amount of ground beef I eat, I use 2 cups lettuce and 2oz cheese and 1TBSP taco sauce. YUM-O!
