Re: I want peanut butter!!!!!
Cheat days stall people; it's best to stay clean and fight the craving.
I have the same problem with peanut butter and I've been struggling with it too. There is a certain time of day, 4pm, that I crave it and sometimes I give in. I'm on pre-maintenance and am allowed 2 T. but I can't stop at that. I don't know why that stuff has such a hold on me but I have to stay away from it. Sometimes I go for a short walk or just get out of the kitchen if I can. I think part of the problem is that it is so filling while most snacks aren't. Whatever the problem, it's tough to resist. All we can do is strenghten our resolve and bite the bullet, as opposed to the butter!

Re: I want peanut butter!!!!!
I just eat it.
Doesn't slow my weight loss really. If it does, it is little enough to not be noticeable. I eat celery with 1 tbsp peanut butter every other day.
Better to give in to tiny little things like that, than build frusteration that leads to a total breaking point of failure.

Re: I want peanut butter!!!!!
Uhm. Cheat days are not Atkins. Peanut butter is not allowed on induction...
Why not just eat something else? When you move up the rungs, you'll be able to eat peanut butter. It's not forever, just a couple weeks. When people give it to cravings like that, they usually continue to have them. If you hold out and get control of it, you usually stop having the cravings. Biting butter would actually be better than biting the peanut butter during induction!27/f/5'10"

Re: I want peanut butter!!!!!
I used to eat a lot of peanut butter. Lots. I'd mix in both whole and ground flax seed and cashews. It almost was like a fudge.Originally posted by ski View Postwhat can i do..im desperate for peanut butter!!!
Sorry, I got carried away there in my fond reminiscence.
You'll get over those cravings sometime. I did.
I now eat, seldom if ever, almond butter. Little bites.

Re: I want peanut butter!!!!!
According to Dr. Atkins, no nuts during Induction.
Rules of Induction:
4. Eat absolutely no fruit, bread, pasta, grains, starchy vegetables or dairy products other than cheese, cream or butter. Do not eat nuts or seeds in the first two weeks. Foods that combine protein and carbohydrates, such as chickpeas, kidney beans and other legumes, are not permitted at this time.
5. Eat nothing that isn't on the Acceptable Foods list. And that means absolutely nothing. Your "just this one taste won't hurt" rationalization is the kiss of failure during this phase of Atkins.

Re: I want peanut butter!!!!!
I advise that you don't eat it now. Peanutbutter has lost of sugar in it. Best not to even start down that road.sigpicCeeMarie 267/236/180 (-31 lbs!)

Re: I want peanut butter!!!!!
1. Grab an empty jar and fill it with mud.
2. Open a jar of peanut butter and inhale deeply of it's satisfying aroma.
3. While the scent of PB is still strong, eat a small spoonful of the mud.
4. Do you still want to eat peanut butter?
-----a. if YES, repeat steps 2-4
-----b. if NO, congratulations -- you've overcome your craving!

Re: I want peanut butter!!!!!
You crave what you are allergic to, addicted to or sensitive to. Even more reason to resist the urge to give in and eat it. Induction is the time to gain control over cravings.
A lot of us can't deal with peanut butter or peanuts. I have been doing Atkins for over three years, but I cannot have peanut butter in the house. If I start with a spoon full, I keep going back until the jar is empty. This fall, I bought peanut butter three different times to bake peanut butter cookies. I ate them all and never baked the first peanut butter cookie.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
