  • Pounds and Sweets

I completed my 14 days yesterday, but I have not lost anymore weight. In fact, I gained 3-1/2 pounds. As I posted in another thread, it is sometimes inches we lose instead of pounds, so, I'm trying to hang in there with that.

The other thing I want to know is, what kind of artificial sweeteners is everybody using? I need to make sweet things with my eggs sometimes and I don't want to go over my 3 pkts. per day of Splenda.

I have heard of Fiber Fit, Sweetzfree, and NuStevia. I have tried Stevia before and I don't like it, so that's out. I like my morning cuppa, and I make a mock danish sometimes and an egg/cream cheese/cream thing sometimes (that I got off of sugar free sheila's website). That's all. I am eating very nicely, but I just have to have a little something some days.

And also, does anyone remember when to add cocoa in?

    Many thanks...

Congratulations with completing induction. Many do not make it. You've been good.

So what I am seeing is cream, cheese, caffeine and sweeteners. You may want to tinker a bit here. Eggs, fish, meat, vegetables and see if that does it. Perhaps leave those yummy shakes to when you get that losing going. You could move to OWL one and add extra veggies. Some people lose better with extra veggies.

As for sweetener I use Splenda but I don't eat sweetener every day. There is a bit of a sugar product in splenda and you may be sensitive to it. Maybe try some others. Atkins lists legal sweeteners in the book.

Cocoa is a nut so rung 3.

Thank you, Liv. I was only listing the things that I like to have so that I can have a little something sweet. But I do not drink shakes. I make something between a souffle and a custard a couple of mornings a week, especially when I know I will eating a late lunch. It keeps me filled. I have a cup of caffeinated tea in the morning but my coffee is decaf. Too bad about the cocoa, but I'll wait. I thought maybe I should post my menus here for you. Maybe something else will scream out at you so that you can help me. Your answer may be the same.

Here are two typical menus for me:

      B: egg/cream cheese/cream thingie
tea w/ a little cream and liquid Splenda

L: 2 cups romaine with EVOO and vinegar, ground beef with a bit of Rotel tomatoes

D: broiled rib eye steak seasoned with a little plain salt, 1 cup broccoli, steamed, pat of unsalted butter

      S: one deviled egg

at least 64 oz. of water

      B: 2 eggs and bacon
L: tuna w/mayo over two cups romaine
D: broiled chicken breast, 1 cup broccoli, steamed, with a pat of unsalted butter

S: 1/2 cup freshly cooked pumpkin with 2 oz. cream cheese, Splenda

I also think I need to stay on Induction for a little while longer...I don't know.

      Thank you so much.
