    Question about Ketosis...

Ok - so how long is it safe to actually STAY in ketosis? I really just don't know that much ABOUT ketosis in general (other than the fact that it's your body's way of burning fat)

but is it safe to ALWAYS be in ketosis?

also - i usually love exercise (but haven't done much this week cuz of 'TOM')...but is it actually exercise that HELPS ketosis along in terms of really making it work to BURN off that fat?

anyone have any information on how ketosis really works? thanks!!!!

    Re: Question about Ketosis...

Hello.. Well..you are in Ketosis as long as you are on Atkins..so yes.. it is safe to be in Ketosis..

When we stop eating carbohydrates, our bodies start to eat fat! yet, fat as every energy deposit, needs to be broken down to glucose.. think fat as a dollar and glucose as a dime.. our bodies have only dime slots..so you need to make change
when the fat breaks down..there are by products..waste produced.. this by product is ketones..
ketones are excreted by braith (only marginal amounts) and by urines..one of the main waste disposal mechanisms!
So ketosis is the process of breaking down fat into glucose, which generates ketones!

You always have some ketones in your body, it is a natural process.

You can be in ketosis for as long as you want.
