  • Alchohol..

I know that even if you drank 0 carb alchohol you would switch from burning fat to burning alchohol as fuel which would slow down your weight loss.. BUT.. why is it that you still produce ketones.

Lets say I drink for three days (or have alchohol in my system for 3 days) I would presume that my body has switched form burning fat and is burnign that alchohol... But why is it then that you can still show ketones in your urine which is a by product of broken down fat????????????/

All I know is that alcohol gives you a false reading on the ketostix, so if you've been drinking, don't rely on the colour they turn.

Alcohol and fat, produce the same byproducts when they are degraded and harvested for their energy.. it is almost the same catabolic(the breaking down) pathway, and happens at the same place..the liver..
