Good luck to you. Be sure to read the book and have copies of the Induction Acceptable Foods List and Rules of Induction with you at all times so you can refer to them if you have a question.

        Re: Starting Induction

Good luck, I have been doing the lifestyle for 3 weeks and the induction wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The problem is with those around me saying things like 'you are eating too much.' 'Oh my god ! how can you lose weight eating that'. blah blah.....
I discovered the art was to imgine them very small, like a fly, then I would put an imaginary bell jar over them, so I couldn't hear them . It works !!
Also watch out for the scales, they are evil. try to measure your self in inches and not pounds. That way you can stay motivated.
I have had a few really crap days , but on the whole this site has saved my bacon ( bad pun, sorry English humour !!!)
        Good luck,

Carrots are not allowed on induction! Here are the foods allowed:

Also you should eat at least three meals. Too long between your breakfast and dinner there. That deli coleslaw is very questionable. They tend to have sugars in them. Did you check the ingredient list. I don't think you got your two cups of salad veggies in there so work on those.
Have you had time to read the book. If not yet. Take time to check these links

Yesterday was a very agitated and nervous pacy day. Some spuratic quick headaches. Added 12 exercises, that I did yesterday and will plug away at these daily until Feb.2, 09.

*These are a lot of changes to make, so will try to incorporate them into each day.

                      Re: Starting Induction

We all found there were some things we had not quite got right in the beginning, so keep on going

As Liv suggested, that coleslaw most likely will have contained non-induction ingredients, so try to get sight of the ingredients list on the packet that they bought it in. With 6.5 carbs in only 1/4 cup I guess some added sugar was possible there.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                        QUESTION:
Can I have deli lunch meats in the packages? Salami, pepperoni, etc?
Is this a health factor? Can I eat them?

                            Re: Starting Induction

Butterfly -- you'll do fine -- read the book, read the links Liv sent (they helped me) and make sure you're eating induction foods only. After the first couple days things will fall into place and you'll be fine. Watch eating out, to make things taste good sugar, salt and non-induction friendly items are put into the food. Go to the store, get some easy to take with you foods and make sure you don't go more than 6 hours inbetween meals -- that's really important.

You'll do fine - just make sure you follow the rules!!
