  • Palpitations update!

    Hi all,

Ok so I went to the docs(convinced he was going to tell me I had had a heart attack!) I was/am hypokelmic<sp> ie I have low pottassium, which is excreted in the urine. As I have been drinking way more than I normally have been used to my body was just flushing it out. Anyway the good news is that he has put me on Slow K and he said the symptoms should disappear after about 8 hours of taking the first tablet so YAY .

Oh and I weghed myself this morning on Day 7 of induction & I am down by 6lbs!! can't say the first week was a breeze but hey! REALLY REALLY HAPPY

        Re: Palpitations update!

        Hi guys,

Trouble is I personally probably can't get enough pottassium from the amounts of veg etc allowed on induction. Normal levels are apparently 3.5 - 5 mine was at 3 so borderline low but still low enough to cause symptoms. But thank goodness he had an answer

Oh & I told him I was doing the Atkins & whilst not exactly endorsing it he had no problems with it when I showed him my food journal of what I had eaten....so more good news. And whatever way you look at it I have LOST weight eating all my favourite foods so bring it on. Why didn't I do Atkins years ago

        Ciao x

Raw (undistilled) apple cider vinegar is a great source of potassium. You can pick it up at your local health food store. Make sure it has "The Mother" in it.

You can sip 1tbsp. w/8oz water 3x a day. It is also loaded with a ton of other minerals, and helps aid in weight loss and digestion. It also contains anti bacterial and anti viral properties.

          It is also Induction freindly.

If you cannot aquire it where you live you can always order it online.
"The Mother" is the cobweb looking stuff that floats around in it. It is packed full of nutrients.
When vinegar is distilled they take this vital Mother out.

              Check out: www.bragg.com
There are other brands that offer raw apple cider vinegar, but I have found that Bragg's tastes the best IMO.

I have read a couple of their books and followed many of their advice and tips, and I have always felt better doing so.
