  • Any teachers?

I am restarting induction and am wondering what you take for lunch? I am starting to get a little bored with salads and need something I can take to school with me that is not too fusy.

    Thanks!

Do you have access to a fridge and/or microwave at school or will you have to carry your lunch with you during the morning?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      Re: Any teachers?

I'm not a teacher but I work 7-3:30 every day and what I have found to work for me is when I am making my dinner, I make an extra meal out of it for lunch the next day. That way I am eating a pretty good meal and maybe have a cup of salad as a side instead of the main course. This also cuts down on my prep time since I like to have everything I am taking to work ready the night before.

I personally love bringing chicken or tuna salad to work... Fairly quick and easy to eat even when chasing after kiddies... sometimes I'll make some turkey and cheese rollups with a little mayo on the side. I know teacher lounges can be goody deathtraps so I try and keep my lunch appealing to me so I don't cave. Good luck!!

Yes we do have a fridge and microwave. Thank you for the suggestions! I will try the roll ups and maybe even having left overs from dinner!

Fridge and microwave - sky is the limit then
How about crustless quiche? Any kind of leftover - just make larger suppers the day before.
My favorite to bring are homemade hamburger buns, lettuce leaves and red peppers.

              I agree, Liv

Maybe store some 'legal' dressing (no added sugars in it) in the fridge so you dont have to carry it back and forth from home, and bring salad ingredients or dishes to reheat each day in a coolbag.

Make sure you put 'keep off' signs on anything you leave in the fridge so your fellow teachers dont pinch it!!
