  • Net Carb Question

Hello - I just read that on Fit Day, when figuring out our carbs we are supposed to be subtracting out fiber from our carbs for the 'actual' carb count - is this true and if so did I mess up induction by being around 16-17 carbs as opposed to 19-20? Thanks!

    Re: Net Carb Question

Yes, you are supposed to subtract fiber from total carbs. not2late explains net carbs in this sticky:

You should be getting most of your carbs from veggies. If, for example, you are eating 16 net carbs a day, more than 8 of them should be veggie carbs. Don't forget that Dr. Atkins said we should count each ounce of cheese as 1 net carb, although cheese has usually less than that. If you are eating your veggies, then it is OK to have only 16 carbs. It's difficult to be at a perfect 20 every day.
