I dont have any great words of wisdom but I did want to share that I have the same goals (pretty much) and have been successful. My starting weight was 131.0, my goal weight is 105. I am 5'2" and have always weighed this until about two years ago when I started gaining weight. The weight is unsightly and uncomfortable and so I am getting rid of it. This means I only need to lose 26 pounds. I am on day 19 of Atkins Extended Induction and my current weight is 120.2, so I have lost 10.8 pounds in a very small amount of time.

The only real difference I see in my intake of food and yours is that I have restricted my calories to 1100-1300 a day.

Best wishes, no matter what you decide.

Hi Bamakelly - I have a question for you. Do you feel the 10.8 lbs you've lost is actual body fat? Do you look smaller? Does water weight loss show on out bodies and not just on our scales? That's an amazing loss! You must be thrilled. You'll be slim in no time.

It is actually body fat. Most of the 26 pounds (now only 15 pounds) that I wanted to lose sat all on my belly and thighs. I really looked as if I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and was asked when my baby was due by a bank teller about two months ago!!! Because I am so small everywhere else I have to say it was an accurate assumption to make. Since loosing this first 10.8 pounds I barley have a belly and my thighs have slimmed down considerably. With the weight I had gotten to where I was wearing a size 8 in jeans, today I have on size 4's and I am not "stuffed" into them. I am more thrilled than you could imagine. I feel so blessed that this has been so easy and I keep waiting on something to happen as this seems too good to be true; but it is not. Even people I have run into over the past few weeks remark on the loss!!!

I have tried posting pictues on here but cant figure it out! Tonight I will get them on my flicker account before and current pics so that everyone can see the difference, I will PM you with the link.

You'll be there in no time too, just keep it up!

Thanks to everyone for your input on this. I've gotten over my disappointment and am focusing on moving forward. Based on all the advice I received, I decided to move to Rung 1 of OWL and add in 5 more net carbs of veggies this week. And wait. And be patient. And keep my fingers crossed. And my toes... I hope to have something positive to post at the end of my third week on Atkins!
