Yay for you! The first step is the hardest. How do you like the mock danish? I've been thinking of trying that.

      yay!

Good for you! I am one who also uses baby steps to exercise. I might go up and down my stairs a few times today, just to say I've done SOMETHING! Good luck today!

        Good for you!

Start off slowly and as you build up endurance and strength increase your walks. Don't feel depressed about not being able to walk longer or farther the first time or second time. Your muscles aren't used to the work out you're giving them and they need to get stronger. Once they do----look out, you'll be posting that you're entering a marathon or a charity walk.

Yewtree, this is how it starts though...a 10 minute walk today...maybe a couple 10 minute walks a week..then one day you're feeling pretty good so you go an extra minute or two, and you repeat that. Before you know it, you're gone for 45 minutes!

When I started my walking, I would walk for 10 minutes, turn around and come home. Then I went farther...then I walked home from work (which is about 30 to 40 minutes) and then I stepped up the intensity of my walk.
Now, I'm almost running(well, a slow jog) my whole route!

You have to start somewhere, and a 10 minute walk is a wonderful start!!! :yes

lifted yesterday, today is my walk or stair climber - really hate both days but it's worth it. I love when it's warm and we can (hub) walk outside at night. My son rides his bike and all is well with the world. Not that easy with the stepper - ugghhh.
            Crawling still gets you there!

              :wave hi yewtree!

That is fantastic! Hey, when I started exercising, i took a 5 min walk to the store and had to stop twice and rest and when I got there, I didn't think that I would make it back! And doing my WATP video, when I started, I could only do 7 minutes---you know what? That was just the warm up part of the tape! LOL! But that was all I could do and I was seriously depressed about that but I made up my mind that day, I was gonna do that whole video one day. And everyday for a week and a half, I would do my 7 minutes, do a cool down and be happy about it. By day 14, I could do the whole video. So don't feel bad, you are at least getting out there and doing it!

                Hi Yewtree! :wave

                That's wonderful! you're moving again!

And never say the work "only" !!! this is a great success you walked for 10 minutes, it'll turn into 30 before you know it.

I just started walking myself the first day was awful but I felt great afterwards...and now each I day I find I do a little more, If I can't I don't beat myself up about it.

The victory is that you got up off your tush and did something good for your body - the fact that you didn't run a triathelon doesn't matter one bit.

                Good going kiddo!
