  • Why?

... is week 2 so hard for me? It's always been a battle for me on any "diet".
I feel like saying what Bob did on the Biggest Loser a week or so ago.. "@$!# WEEK TWO!" I am getting discouraged and starting to get tempted. I've done really well.. but it's like I am feeling like I need fruit. Not big on veggies and the meat and cheese thing is getting old.

I've lost 3.78% of my weight, 6lbs, in the last 7 days. Week 2 starts tomorrow. I have to do this. I want to feel comfortable in my body again. GGGRRRRRRRR. Any support given would be much appreciated.

    Re: Why?

Hang in there!! You've got to keep going knowing you'll feel so much better in another week and then even better in a month!! Are you feeling the burst of energy yet? I promised myself I'd get along at least a month with NO CHEATING whatsoever. If you have to make yourself little promises and renew them down the road, do it! Today, it's been exactly one month for me and I'm not considering cheating. There are enough normal stagnant periods without screwing it up worse by cheating and throwing out all of the work you've already done! You can't forget your reason for undoing the damage! Are you exercising at all? When you get your body moving and feel the flow of the endorphins, you'll feel so much better. Hang in there, don't cheat!! You're the only one who'll have to pay the piper and I'm sure those kids want a mom who can run and jump and play with them!! You CAN do it!!

We can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight we need to lose in the first 114 days. You've lost almost 4% and it's only the end of week 1. So you're right on track!

If it is the crunchy/crisp mouthfeel of fruit you miss why not put some sweet red peppers in the fridge to chill then eat slices dipped in mayo or a dip. I find them satisfyingly sweet and crunchy. I do the same with radishes. cucumber sticks and celery.

Do you like rhubarb or pumpkin? They are on the one-cup vegetable list.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
