  • induction question

After one week of induction I have lost 2.5 lbs. I weigh now 165.5, my question is why am I so achy? TOM is not even close still like 2 weeks away. But my ankles, and my body feels achy. I have drank tons and tons of water, but am needing answers.
    Thanks

    Re: induction question

Why do you have after 2.5lbs?? That's great!

It's possible that you still have induction flu. Or it's possible (and probably more likely) that you have one of the nasty cold/flu bugs that are going around. Even Atkins can't protect you from catching something.

I'm not sure what you mean by achy? Are your hands and feet swollen?

        Re: induction question

        Hi honey

Like you I ache all over, by mid afternoon I could do with a lay down and a painkiller. Ache, in the normal sense of the word meaning the bones and joints hurt, throb and are generally ucomfortable. I do not have a virus, for me it is part and parcel of induction - despite being at day 13 and it does not change for me until I move along the rungs and increase by more carbs. I also know that my body is resisting any weight loss as it is near target which contributes to my discomfort.

I could feel the need to sleep during the day, which is not always possible.

        Hope you feel better soon.

            Re: induction question

Yes it is my ankles mostly that are achy, they feel like a balloon. And my wrists, it is so weird. It feels like I am on my period with the achy feelings but I am not. And I am not sick otherwise, so it has nothing to do with a sickness. And do you think 2.3 lbs is good after 1 week, I am getting discouraged. I know that people lose weight differently but having 40 lbs to lose that seems very slow, or is it
            Thanks

              Re: induction question

Are you taking your multivitamins and minerals too?
If you have already lost 2.3 and you are no hitting the ketosis phase you are in good shape. One can expect to lose 5-10% of what you have to lose in induction.
I remember the feeling. Just take it easy. It will pass.
