  • Keto sticks

So I have been on induction for a week. I drink tons of water, and my sticks are still dark dark purple, the 2nd highest to the top. But 2.5 lbs in a week, is that good. And if I am in dark ketosis then why isnt the weight falling off of me. Everyday is a learning experience.
    Thanks

    Re: Keto sticks

Your weight loss depends on your current weight, food intake, body resistance and other environmental factors. If you are close to your goal, your weight should come off slowly. If you are intaking too many or too few carbs, this will slow down your progress. Also, if you are eating the wrong things, like tons of artificial sweeteners or low carb candy, these will slow you down. If your body is resistant to weight loss, you will have trouble. Also, there could be physical things like yeast production getting in your way.

Are you exercising? Exercising is great for you, but some people don't see the scales move when they start exercising. If you just started working out, or becoming more active, a 2.5 lb weight loss is actually great. Your body is turning fat into muscle which weighs more. However, your overall body fat will be reduced.

I gave you these hints because I would hate to be stuck and not get any responses. However, I wanted to point out that your loss is a loss and should be celebrated. Once you start questioning why they aren't enough, you start to travel a slippery slope. Be happy that you are losing! You are doing great!

      Re: Keto sticks

Thanks for the reply, but I am still confused. I have done atkins before, and NEVER lost this little in a week. I have about 40 lbs to lose, and 2.5 lbs is just awful to me. I am in dark ketosis, so no I am not eating carbs or tons of carbs (I am in induction), but I am drinking tons of water. I am still confused.....................

Give it another week. You should really wait through the whole induction period before judging your loss. You have to remember that during your first week, your body is switching over to this woe. Wait until the end of week 2 and see how you did.

Also keep in mind, that if you actually eat more than you need, then your body is in Ketosis, ketones are registered on the sticks, but the fat deposits of the body are not utilised..
Plus you are only one week on induction. Remember, that weight loss is not linear, and even your body does not react the same every time

            Re: Keto sticks

A 'normal' loss in the whole of the first 14 days is said to be between 5% and 10% of the total you hope to lose.
            5% of 40 = 2 : 10% of 40 = 4
So you have already lost more than 5% in the first week and any extra will be a bonus
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
