Hi :wave
I can't and won't take in artificial sweetners in any form or fashion. I'm currently in Induction. My carb of choice was sugar, so I don't fool around personally with sweetners. Otherwise I will crave outta control. I heard that some can do it and choose Splenda or what the book says is okay and how many packets and such. But thats all I know and its from personal knowledge.{100% Female/30/5'6"}

I have no idea, that is a wonderful question!
ensive Splenda makes my losing come to a screaching halt if I overdo it. I just looked in my book and couldn't find an answer. It might be a conditioned response of your blood sugar to spike when you taste something sweet. Maybe brought on chemical reactions that occur in the brain when something sweet is tasted. One of the veterans will get on here soon and hopefully give you an answer.

Splenda itself won't make you gain weight. However, your body isn't just a raw resource processing machine, which would be 0 Calories go in and no effect on weight loss go out. It has a variety of mechanisms to regulate weight loss or weight in general. One of the main reasons Splenda can stall a weight loss is the cephalic insulin reaction, which is your brain responding to the sweet taste of Splenda-sweetened food by telling your body to release a bunch of insulin into your system. Sometimes just the thought of that trigger food can stimulate that reaction. The more splenda, the greater chance to have that same insulin spike, which can stall your weightloss attempts.
I know we have a number of Splenda allergic or sensitive people on here, so it can definitely as well have a chemical reaction with some people, which knowing the outcome (weight gain) is difficult to determine. I think that is why the doc limited us to just 3 servings per day -- not to ruin our endless supply of so-called treats or diet rite, but to make the weightloss as uneventful (in a bad way) as possible.Kent - 35-M-6'4"
