Hi all,
So it's my second week of Atkins and I've lost 11lbs. I couldn't believe it, I had to keep checking the scales time and time again to make sure what I was reading was true.
I'm aware that my weight loss will slow down but I've never lost this much weight. It took me months to lose 8lbs on my "slow and steady wins the race" low fat diet, blegh!
I've found the first week of induction to be relatively painless if you don't count the 150g of cheese I ate one day while snacking (I'm not even a huge lover of cheese so I don't know what that was about.)
I did feel a bit light headed for a few hours one day, and tired the next day but I've put my body through so much I don't know if that's just me or the diet.
One weird thing is my sleep. I normally don't need much sleep. I'd go bed 5/6/7 am and wake up 4 hours later. But now I find I'm going to bed earlier and sleeping longer which is great.
My appetite has reduced as expected. I did have a few late night cravings for a doughnut with a cup of tea or peanut butter on toast (it's lovely Mmmmm). I didn't succumb to my cravings as I knew it was all to do with the fact that before this diet I could go all day without eating and then make up for it in the evening and night. I was not hungry. I had to break the habit of eating when I'm bored or when something good is on TV.
I did have to buy some decaf tea though with Splenda as I really needed a hot drink and that green tea was awful without sugar. I'll only have it when I really need it though.
I would like to thank everyone here for the support they've given me and all the good advice. It's so warming to speak to others that are going or went through the same thing as you.
I have a long road ahead of me but for the first time in over 10 years I feel good about myself and my future.
Group hug
