ok, so i'm about 3 weeks in now and I still really haven't understood something about vegees...
according to the "rules" of induction - you're only "allowed" "Two to three cups per day" of the salad vegetables, and this INCLUDES romaine lettuce (or any other lettuce) - yet of the 15 - 20 carbs per day that we're supposed to have, "most must come in the form of salad greens and other vegetables" - but if I have even 3 cups of lettuce for a salad - according to the carb counter in the back of the book, lettuce ONLY has 0.4 g net carbs per cup. So that means that 3 cups of romaine lettuce has 1.2 grams of carbs...
and it goes on to say - for the other vegees, "you can have one cup per day if salad does not exceed two cups"
yet my 3 cup salad exceeds 2 cups - but again, 3 cups of my salad is ONLY 1.2 g carbs!
that means that the other 18 grams of carbs should come from elsewhere because i've "exceeded" my 3 cups for the day?
I'm sure i'm just thinking too much into this - but honestly i am very confused!
I LOVE having big salads for lunch (which is normally at least 2 cups of lettuce) and I have about 1/2 cup of spinach for breakfast, that only 'technically' leaves me about 1/2 cup of vegees left for the day - and those 2 cups of lettuce plus the spinach ONLY adds up to 2 grams of carbs total.
so i'm really not eating a ton of carbs in vegee form (which i LOVE vegees) - and I just want to know if it's "cheating" by eating MORE than 3 cups of vegees (if 2 of those cups are lettuce and 1/2 is spinach).
