  • Emergency Sweet Fix

I really wanted dessert tonight, so made the simplest of desserts that left me feeling like I'd just had a supremely illegal confection!

    1 oz. cream cheese
    1/4 t. maple extract
    1 pkt. Splenda

I mashed it all together in a tiny chinese teacup, then simply ate it off the spoon.

    Ummmmmmm!

    Re: Emergency Sweet Fix

I've done that before, it's actually a pretty common sweet fix! I had it a few times on induction to help fight off the sweet cravings. Haven't had it for a while, though, but it will agree that it tastes great

      Re: Emergency Sweet Fix

Oooh thanks for that. I have had a couple of bouts of sweet cravings and I ended up drinking some decaf tea with Splenda. I may try this next time. Another tip is to brush your teeth and gargle with mouthwash. I guess it depends on the type of toothpaste I use Colgate Total, it's lovely.

I do this but use either vanilla or strawberry essence. The smallest drop ever is needed.

UKAmmie, I would never have thought of gargling with mouthwash to help satisfy a sweet tooth. What a great tip!

chubbyroman, I have vanilla, but no strawberry. That, or cherry, would be nice.

I do not get sweet cravings much anymore, but once in a while something quick and sweet really helps.

Hi all, When you say vanilla you are talking about regular vanilla extract? That's carb free? Thanks
