The UK and US editors really messed up with the book in terms of translating weights and measurements. Go to http://www.atkins.com click on the Union Jack image at the top. That will get you to the UK site and you can look up the measurements there.

you convert cups to ml or cc not grams! We had a UK newbie back when the book and board were new complaining about how could we possible eat all that lettuce and nobody in the states understood till they posted the exact amount in their book and we discovered some UK editor had mistakenly converted American liquid ounces a volume measure into UK grams a weight measure. We do have a weight measure called ounces too but Dr Atkins used cups as his chosen unit. and that poor person was trying to eat 1 and 1/2 pounds of lettuce a day as the veggies :yikes :yikes :yikes no wonder we had so many UK folk sayingthey couldn't eat their veggies. Here is a link to the USDA database which lists food and its carbs by cups and grams.
It is very large so I usually use the search function (Ctrl + F) to find what I am looking for. As it is a pdf file you will need Adobe reader to read it which can be downloaded for free from many websites.
Once it has opened on your computer you can save it by clicking the small disc icon just above the information and store it on your computer for reference.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
