yes, IF you made it yourself without all those sugars, or if you find a store bought beef jerky without all the sugars and bad stuff that they love to fill them with. I find that alot of butcher shops make safe jerky.

The beef jerky they sell at my school does not have the ingredients on it. I guess I will just have to go without it.

If you can pack your lunch and bring it to school, you won't go hungry during the day.

Tom - unless they make it themselves it will have the ingredients on the packet label.
They should be able to tell you what is written there or let you have a look at the packet to find out for yourself.
Don't be shy of asking - if you happened to be diabetic they wouldnt expect you to eat things with sugar in, or if you followed a religion that had dietary rules they would be happy to help you stick to them. This is no different!!
Perhaps you can ask a member of staff to find out privately for you if the situation is too unfriendly for you to ask in person?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Good idea elizellen. I will look on the container they sell them in to see if it has carbs.

Remember it isn't just the carbs - you need to make sure there is nothing listed that is not allowed on induction as well.

The ingredients are beef, water, salt, brown sugar, spices, flavorings, mono sodium, glutamate, sugar, and sodium nitrate. I do not have the book yet, so I dont know if any of these things is unacceptable. Could someone help me out, and tell me if I should or should not eat these?

There's two types of sugars in there, Tom, so they aren't acceptable.

While you're waiting for your book to get there, check out the FAQ's

and look for the Acceptable Foods list.
It's SO great you're getting the book because it'll explain the 'why' behind the diet, and that'll help you understand why we eat certain foods at certain stages. :yes

There's also a small wallet sized Acceptable Foods list you might want to print out and carry with you.
