    Re: sf jello

Others may disagree, but I say yes. I make a jello/whipped cream dessert that takes me a week to eat... so few carbs a day. Anyway... the issue that some people have with SF Jello is that it's sweetened with aspartame, and aspartame has been known to stall people. I say give it a try with that in mind... if you weight loss slows or stalls, take it out of your plan and see if your weight loss resumes. If it does, then aspartame may not be right for you.
    Good luck!

      Re: sf jello

Dr. Atkins mentions a "gelatin dessert made with sucralose" in a sample menu in the book. Jello-Brand gelatin isn't made with sucralose. It's made with aspartame, which is NOT one of the allowed artificial sweeteners in the book. So, Jello-Brand gelatin isn't an allowed food.

That being said, if you can find a non-aspartame/Nutrasweet sugar free gelatin dessert, then it would be "legal" for Induction.

Or make your own using unsweetened gelatine and an allowed sweetener.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I wonder if DaVince syrup and gelatin would work? I made a latte jello once and it wasn't bad at all.

I've been eating SF jello with aspartame every night.Have stayed in ketosis and lost 17lbs in 15 days. If I thought there was even a chance it would slow me down, I would do without it.

Walmart has a gelatin dessert made by Hunt's that uses Splenda.

                  Re: sf jello

can someone explain to me about aspertame as i've been drinking a fair amount of diet juices (fanta zero, etc.) which have aspartame, but i'm still losing weight.

so is it completely illegal or just not recommended for everyone?

                  thanks!

                    Re: sf jello

Dr. ATkins noticed that "excessive amounts" of aspartame slowed or stopped weight loss in his dieters. In the 1992 book, "excessive amounts" was defined as 3 or more packets of aspartame daily.

Just remember that each serving of an artifically sweetened food/drink is to be counted as 1 serving of artificial sweetener. We are limited to 3 servings of artificial sweetener daily.

                      Re: sf jello

When I hit a stall months ago, I stopped eating cheese and replaced it with Jello cups and started losing again. I ate 2 a day, one at noon and one at night, and it worked for me.

Now I've started adding whipped cream and it's very hard to stop at just one so I'm stopping the cream.
