I have been browsing this board for a few days now and i think its great that such support exists . I am have started the Atkins for a couple of days and lost a good amount 3lbs in two days and then I go back to Carbs . I am desparate to change my eating habits and encorporate exercise but, i am having trouble doing this . The biggest achievement would be for me to complete the induction period. I have heard about mentoring on the board but cant seem to find it . I need to lose 80lbs to help gain my self confidence back . When i look at myself in the mirror i feel so depressed . Please help with some advice anything to get me moving. Thanks for reading .

Welcome Ebony
I'd just take the induction two weeks one day at a time. I never thought I'd survive two weeks on this wol and here I am well over 9 months later. If you can, make your home as atkins friendly as possible by giving away all high carb foods. If you have a family, then make yourself a special area in the pantry and fridge that is for your foods only.
We do have a mentoring buddy system going here. I contacted one of the mentors for you, so hopefully she will be in contact shortly

Hi Ebony! :wave
I'm so glad you have taken the first step towards getting a healthier skinnier you. What might help prevent those temptations is to toss or give away any non atkins friendly foods. Or donate to charities is also a great idea.
Excercize is no option. Even if you do a brisk walk for 30 minutes will help you drop the lbs so quickly you'd be amazed. Plus once your body starts moving and the weight starts dropping you'll find it easier and easier to start walking for 1 mile, then 2, next thing you know your doing gymnastics, running 5 miles, and lifting weights!
Don't give up, we are all here for you! Drink plenty of water and read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 edition - it will become your best friend. That and a tape measure.
Nice to have you with us!F 24 5'10 SW - 217 GW 170 restarted atkins 1/14/08 - This time I'm sticking with it!

Hello Ebony :wave
I am glad you have joined us on
ha It is good to have another Brit on board!!
Take it one day (or meal) at a time and before you know it you will be able to boast of a week's clean induction :joyWondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Hi Ebony! :wave
Welcome! you made a great start and you can indeed really transform and reinvent yourself both physically and emotionally,
It's not hard to see the proof just look at some of the jaw dropping amazing pics on here, people have lost 25...50...100...200 pounds! and Ebony, we all started with that first step - the one you're taking right now.
So you know about the mentoring program and that's very important, if you think you need it? go grab it!
The single most critical key to long term success on Atkins is having a copy of the 2002 version of "Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution" known around here as simply DANDR.
More than "just a book" it's a step by step blueprint on how to succeed in every way possible, without it failure is pretty much guaranteed.
However, with the book by your side, a heart full of determination and the support and genuine care you'll find here - you'll make it. That person you now you are inside but have yet to see looking back at you in the mirror will finally emerge. So on that note, I say welcome aboard!
Stick to the program and when you need some help (and who doesn't?) all you have to do is ask!
Peter

I just want to double check something here. The DANDR I have is a white paper back copyright1992,1999,2002 I thought this was the right one but then I saw another one the other day and want to make sure that I am using the correct one.
