Today is Day 7 for DH and I and we both have the worst headaches we've ever had in our lives. Two years ago when I started Atkins I never had any of the Induction Flu problems. I hadn't had it this time until today. It can't be because I've give up caffeine because I didn't drink anything with caffeine before I started, only an occasional decaf ice tea, and it's been quite some time since I've even had that. DH hasn't had any of the Induction Flu problems either, until we both got these terrible headaches today. We did both take sinus and allergy medication, as well as Tylenol and Advil, hoping maybe it was just our sinuses. We're both about ready to jump off the wagon with some comfort food because we are so miserable right now.

Well today is day 7 for me and the induction flu finally stopped a couple days ago. I am not sure if that is what your experiencing or not...but for me it was 3 days of almost migraine worthy headaches. They did go away though...so that was a plus.
Good luck and I hope you get feeling better! You can stick it out!SW:237

Hi Fedup, :wave
You and hubby had very different metabolisms back then, when it comes to diets lightening rarely strikes in the same place twice - meaning your experience last time isn't going to be a carbon copy of this time.
The withdrawal from caffeine, even for a die hard Java junkie like myself isn't pleasant that's for sure. But it's nothing compared to the withdrawal from refined sugar and carbs.
Maybe you and your hubby do have non Induction flue related headaches but I doubt it - I think it's more likely that your both experiencing withdrawal symptoms fro the two demons mentioned above. Remember, Dr. Atkins always considered sugar one of the most insidious and dangerous drugs on the planet,
The good news is it'll pass - if the headaches continue try and ice cold cloth on your forehead, it constricts the capillaries and relives the pressure 9 out of 10 times you'll be feeling better in no time.

DH & I still have our awful headaches today. Plus we're both running a fever and can't keep a thing down. We're both working real hard right now to keep a couple of swallows of water down at a time. DD is home with the same thing, so now we're wondering if maybe it isn't the Induction Flu. It could be though. Either way, it will pass and we will not give it. Not exactly how we wanted to do it, but maybe we'll lose another pound or two because of it.
