**I QUIT** a new journey begins

Hi Everyone, :wave

All I can say is thank you - thank you for all your kind words and incredible, amazing, inspiriting and you have nooooooooooooo idea how much needed support.

Frankly I don't even know why I quit smoking, and it's miserable but it'll pass. Like any addict the facts about smoking never bothered me any more than the prospect of liver damage does an alcoholic (yep I've been there too, 5 years clean and sober)
Anyway I wish my thoughts were clearer and was able to thank each one of you has posted a response here, they help me more than you know and I read them over and over - so a huuuge cyber hug to all of you. I did by the patch to take the edge off, but I think the only place it'll do some good is if I slap it over my mouth!

I continuously find such strength in your posts, Peter. I find myself in weak moments remembering things you have posted. Thank you for sharing your admirable determination and resolve to secure yourself a brighter future, as you are surely helping others fight for their futures as well.

CONGRATULATIONS!! on quitting smoking and I wish you so much willpower! Without cigarrettes you are going to be able to excersize so much more and the whole world will open up to you in a new way. It may be tough, but it will certainly be worth it!

rofl I so agree about the patches - just keep your hands busy. And use more than one patch if you have to. When I did my cut down from 2 packs a day it was a quitting attempt and that first day was sheer ****. So at least you are over that now.
