  • Hunger pangs, but no apetite?

Hi everyone! Here is the thing; I have pretty much no apetite, but I ocassionally get hunger pangs.

When I do get them, I don't feel like eating really. Is this normal?

By looking at my fitday figures I am clearly not eating enough....I am clearly not eating enough lately.

I have lost 2 inches on my waist since the beginning of induction (2.5 wks ago), but GAINED inches on my thighs and hips. So clearly, I am not measuring myself correctly either.

The apetite/hunger thing has me spooked...

    Thanks,

Loss of appetite is a sign of ketosis and is why this "diet" is so great---you don't feel hungry.

Since you are in the no appetite range now, it's really important for you to make sure you go no more than 6 waking hours without eating something. If you have to eat 4-6 smaller meals throughout the day, do it.

      Hi YewTree, :wave

You don't feel hungry because your in ketosis..which is a good and healthy thing - providing you eat!

Megs has given you great advice, break your meals down into 5-6 small ones...stretch out your veggies throughout the day and you'll be just fine. Your body is doing quit a bit of adjusting to all these new changes but you'll adjust and the small meals even if your not feeling hungry will help you to get back into a normal eating pattern before you know it.

If having meals is too much for you why not prepare lots of snacks so you can have a rollup here, a few broccoli florets with a tasty dip there, a mini quiche later etc so you have a small snack every hour or so and eat the equivalent of three main meals over the course of the day.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
