3rd Day.......

  • 3rd Day.......

    3rd Day in and so far for the begining, I have done very well. Not weighed myself but I have stuck to everything.

    But I have had a bit of diarrhea and on the 2nd day a bad stomach, I have not seen anyone mention it on here. I hope I am not doing something wrong.
    I hope it is just my body adjusting. Most people on here have complained about constipation, so for me to be opposite, is strange.

    Also is it important to eat a lot of fat?
    I am trying to up my calories a little. As I counted them up for first few days and it was 1200-1500. Do I need to eat more calories?

    Height 5'9
    Start Weight - 206lb ( 30.4 ) - 13/03/09 (Obese)
    Goal Weight 1 - 196lb ( 28.9 ) - 03/04/09 (Overweight)
    Goal Weight 2 - 189lb ( 27.9 )
    Goal Weight 3 - 182lb ( 26.9 )
    Goal Weight 4 - 168lb ( 24.8 ) (Healthy)
    Goal Weight 5 - 161lb ( 23.8 )
    Goal Weight 6 - 154lb ( 22.7 )
    Goal Weight 7 - 150lb ( 22.1 )

    Some people do experience the opposite of constipation when starting Atkins, so you might just be one of them

    As for eating a lot of fat - most meat has fat in it along with the protein, so though we aim for a ratio of 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs you might be eating soemthing like that anyway.

    Using one of the food logging websites like fitday.com would tell you what your fat percentage has been and let you see if you need to up your fats at all by adding oil/butter/fullfat dressings etc.

    As for calories, for induction concentrate on how many carbs you are eating, eat when hungry and till no longer hungry and your body will probably ask you for enough calories.

      Don't worry about calories, we only count them when there is a problem or stall, Just make sure you don't get hungry and you eat every 6 hours.

        Had the exact same thing happen to me when I first started the diet. It could possibly be that you are close to TOM as well. Having such a drastic change in eating habits really does a lot to ones body. I personally thing its just the initial excess fat saying bye-bye lol. It will eventually stop if your eating the veggies liek yoru supposed to within abotu a week or so of it starting.
