    Okay so I slipped up. I put myself in a dangerous social setting and ended up having 3 vodka sodas last night. I know I have to start over again for a truly clean induction ( I had been doing SO GOOD), but my question is - how much damage did I REALLY do? My drinks were 0 carb. I udnerstand how your body stops everything to process the alcohol, but it was better than me choosing BEER!
    Right?

    You didn't really screw anything up, just delayed it.

    Alcohol has no impact on ketosis. Your body looks to burn alcohol first, so it will not burn fat / protein / carbs while there is alcohol resent.

    But you're right, for a truly clean induction, start over.

      If it was just one slip/bad choice and not several days of eating/drinking off plan you dont start re-counting your 14 days.

      Some of us would never be able to move to the second phase of Atkins if we had to restart our 14 days each time we ate offplan at the start

      So if yesterday was day 5 today is day 6 and so on.

      BTW don't bother to test for ketones for a few days as the acetones given off when alcohol is used as a preferred fuel will register the same as ketones!
