    Hi.

Here's a few things you have to do now....

    1. Figure out why you ate the fruit. Were you hungry? Were you nagged into do so by friends/family? Were there no other food choices? etc.

    2. Develop strategies to cope with the situation.

    3. Remind yourself why you are on the diet to begin with. Some people carry a photo of themselves to remind them how fat and out of shape they are. Personally, I know that my family has a nasty habit of dropping dead from heart disease or they mercilessly linger on and die from complications of diabetes. I've seen enough of them die like that and I want to be the one to break that family curse.

    4. Your very next meal should be a completely Atkins Induction legal meal. Get back on the wagon and finish out your 14 days. Just be aware that your results might be their at their optimum due to this episode.

Going to add...start reading Chapters 12-14 of the book. You'll have to decide if you want to extend your Induction or if you want to move onto OWL where you'll be able to eat those grapes and other fruits legally.

For some people, sticking on the diet is much easier if they have a more varied menu. So ask yourself the Four Questions in Chapter 13 and decide.

There's a misconception in the Induction forums that if you move onto OWL you'll stop losing weight. Not true. Most people will be able to eat more than 20 net carbs of food daily while losing weight.

Boy do I know how you feel. But you know like they say "The best part of banging your head against a wall ~ is when you stop"

So you've slipped up (who hasn't?) and you've beat yourself up about, which you really don't need to do because you're failure wasn't in the slip up it would have been if you let it defeat you,

Like you, I'll be on Induction for a long ...long time and I take each moment one at a time, each choice I make I double check my reasons for making it and I'll keep doing this until hopefully it becomes second nature.

Second nature to reach for the water instead of the soda second nature to choose exercise over being a coach potato...you know, changing behavior isn't easy..it's hard and it takes work. Slip ups play an important role if we learn from them. To your credit you ate fruit, not cake or candy or pasta but fruit. Somewhere in my DANDR Dr. A talks about if you find that you absolutely have to cheat take a bite of that apple instead or the chocolate cake (I'm paraphrasing)

But you were smart enough to choose the lesser of evils.

So listen, you have your entire life ahead of you and that's going to be a very...very long time. If mistakes happen keep bouncing back, make like Nike and Just Do it!

As for your friends? Don't let em' throw you if they question Atkins ask them which part of the book was their favorite, which part drew them to the conclusion that this WOE was unhealthy...ask them which research data supports their claims?
You'll always have the upper hand because you know Atkins has been the most scrutinized diet on the planet and finally after 30 plus years the data that supports Dr. Atkins core beliefs and conclusions are shown to be 100% absolutely, right on correct.

You're back in the saddle, that's the only thing that matters.

THIS BOARD IS FULL OF THOSE WHO HAVE RETRIED THIS WOE OVER AND OVER, BUT THE MAIN THING IS THAT THEY DIDN'T GIVE UP ON THIER GOALS. NEITHER SHOULD U IT'S NOT ABOUT HOW MANY TIMES U SLIP-UP, IT'S ABOUT HOW MANY TIMES U MOTIVATE YOURSELF TO GET BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK!

              MUCH SUCCESS TO U!
