  • Valentine's Day Vent

    OMG I have to vent!!
    I decided to go on extended induction, been on for 5 weeks.... so I planned on cheating for dinner Valentines day.....Hubby bought me Roses and CHOCOLATE!! Then we had Chinese takeout later for dinner and I tried to keep it clean...stir fry and no rice or noodles...AND I had a couple, OK a few, OK alot of vodka that night!!
    Anyway, I gained over 5 pounds this weekend. I started all over Sunday morning, Then had pizza for lunch when we got the kids back from my sister.
    So I started all over again on Monday morning....and here I am Wednesday evening and still haven't lost any of the 5!!!!!! I am so frustrated and mad at myself. Not to mention, I woke up with 2 giant zits from the chocolate!!!! OMG WHY??? We did have the most amazing Valentine's weekend tho!!

    Well, at least you now know how your body can respond to eating off-plan

    Hopefully not too much of the weight is actual fat added, but with the carby food added to the alcohol (which will delay any weightloss while your body uses it as a preferered fuel even if you eat totally on-plan) you might have a few days to work through before seeing the numbers drop.

    You will probably see some cravings rear their ugly heads too, so be prepared with plenty of easily accessible 'legal' food and snacks till your body gets back to normal.

      You will need to give your body a good 3 days to start burning fat for fuel again... also Chinese food has A Lot of sodium and it takes drinking extra water and time to clear that out.... Since your last cheat was Monday... I would say by Friday you will see things getting back down to normal.

      As previous poster said have plenty of high fat/protein snacks on hand to kill the cravings.. they will come..

        I feel soooo much better today! Think yesterday when I wrote the first, I was having a bit of a reinduction flu. I feel 100% better and not so bloaty and tired.
        I will never eat Chocolates again!!

            I agree 100%... mostly the vodka and pizza before the chocolate. TO be really honest I have a piece of chocolate from time to time and it doesn't seem to throw my body off. The bread is the DEVIL for me!!!! Plus sodium which is usually high in any take out food, pizza, Chinese, ect....

            BUT GLAD YOU ARE BAKE ON TRACK AND FEELING GOOD AGAIN!

              At least the next time you are tempted to cheat, you can look back on this experience to remind you that all those frankenfoods just aren't worth the carb 'hangover'! Good luck!
