Re: Not sure about these two foods
Hi, TAGuysWifey,
I think it would help you a lot to read the list of foods allowed on induction and the rules of induction. You really aren't going to have much success if you don't stick to them.
The short answer is no, rice is absolutely forbidden on induction.
Why don't you print these two pages out and stick them on your refrigerator?

Not to sound like an *** or anything, but she is completely new to atkins. I've read about it before a bit while she has not. I've been members of many forums, and can understand it can get annoying answering questions for newbies, but a sarcastic and mean response like that usually turns members away more than anything!
She asked me about sushi (I've never wanted to even try it, I don't know anything about what is in it) so I told her to post it up here and ask... You can expect me to post questions about what is allowed during induction as well, as there are some things I anticipate to be fine that are not listed in the "accepted foods" list that are kind of odd-ball items not everyone eats but I do.... Hopefully the responses I receive are less "omg, what a noob... you need to staple this list to your forehead..." and offer more positive feedback. I also see her #2 question about pickles has gone unanswered. Don't worry though, I will research it myself now that I am home.

TAGuy, yes, it is apparent that she is new to Atkins. That is why I pointed her to the guidelines so she would know what she was doing so she would have the best chance at succeeding.
My response was written only to be as helpful as I could. I am very, very sorry that you chose to take offense to it.

I don't think you read Sunny_One's response in the way that's intended. Not only did she give your wife her answers, she gave her links to a list of other induction-safe foods to help answer any unasked questions she might have had about what's safe and isn't. If anything, the defensive tone of your response was probably the most offesnive thing I've read on this thread.
To clear it up, the pickles are safe - so long as they don't have any added sugars. Check the ingredient list, we don't know which jar of pickles you have holding in your hands
As for sushi, you can make your own sushi by simply making fake rice with Cauliflower. Basically, grate it or put it through a food processor and microwave it for 30 seconds with a bit o butter. Use that instead of rice to wrap up into your sushi wraps.
Or you can always just ask the chef to not include the rice - most of them will be happy to make you a riceless sushi.SW: 243 / CW: 235 / GW: 135

If a person eats yummy stuff without counting the carbs, did it have carbs to begin with?
