  • McDonalds Premium Salad - how many carbs?

I just bought a McDonalds Premium salad for lunch.

It was a bacon ranch one with grilled chicken. Of course I threw away the croutons (8g carbs) and the Ranch Dressing (9g carbs)

I assume that this was pretty low on the carb count, but I can't find it listed anywhere.

Does anyone know how many carbs this salad was?

(It did contain about 4 or 5 cherry tomatoes & what I assume was real bacon).

    Here's the McDonald's website.

Just an FYI, most fast food and chain restaurants have the nutritional info on their websites. Just google them.

The website says it has 12 g carbs and 3 g fiber, so that would seem like 9 carbs.

Then it lists the same salad without the chicken and it is 9 carbs with 3 carbs fiber. I assume that means that the chicken has 3 carbs.

That doesn't seem right. See, those websites almost always suck because they list the burgers with the mayo and other stuff (so that fat counts are rarely correct, so I question the carb count since i don't use the croutons and dressing).

Again, does anyone know for sure?

The grilled chicken might have some kind of glaze on it or it might just be spices - i can't tell.

I also took a look at the Wendy's website and I can't believe it. They list Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad (no almonds, no noodles, no dressing)
as having a whopping 17 carbs. Can that be right?

Unfortunately, that's the best information we can give you.

McDonalds is one the fast food places where you can customize your order. According to the customize feature this is the breakdown:

          Grilled Chicken Breast 2 carbs
Salad mix 2 net carbs (5 totals, 3 fibers)
Tomatoes 3 net carbs (3 totals, 1 fiber)
          Cheese 1 net carb
          Bacon bits 0 net carb

          8 net carbs.

The chicken breast might have a much higher carb count than listed because if you plug the nutritional info into a hidden carb calculator, the calculated calories and the listed calories are waaaaay off.
