Hi Step150, ':wave'
Welcome to ADBB ':wave' ':wave' ':wave' ':wave' I'm the mom to 2 boys too.
Let us know how things are going --- Have you read DANDR recently? If not, reread chapters 1-11 to help you get started. I found the stickies at the top of the board really helpful too --- particularly the ones on what to eat during induction.
Glad to see ya here!!

Hi and welcome!!
I trust you have your copy of DANDR, and you've read it thoroughly?
My bf is a stickboy as well(he weighs 118 with a very small frame), and can eat whatever he wants but oddly enough, his natural eating habits are very Atkin's'y, so we get along great on this way of eating!
Take some time to read the sticky's at the top of this forum ( and of each forum as you progress along)...they are chock full of very useful information..these are things that we've found to be tried and true.
Also, if you go up into your Profile, you can go into your signature and add your stats. See how mine are, with my age, height, gender, start weight/current weight/goal weight.
When you ask questions, this info will help us a LOT when we are answering you. :yes

Hi Step150, :wave
Welcome aboard!
I'm happy to know that after lurking around the site for a while you have made the decision to improve your life and you've taken a very important step by simply posting your note!
Atkins cannot only help you lose the weight it will improve every aspect of your physical and emotional well being - and these days there's no shortage of conclusive data that confirms that.
Just looking around the Board I'm sure you've seen some stunning, jaw dropping examples of how effective Atkins can be. So many people here have lost 25...50..100..200 pounds and absolutely reinvented themselves - all you need is commitment, determination and you'll succeed.
Make sure you have the most recent copy of "Dr Atkins New Diet revolution" known around here as DANDR - it's critical that you have the book, read it and use it as your guide and reference - without the book, which is really the explanation by Dr. Atkins of the what why and how that make this way of life work - failure is inevitable.
So avoid any pitfalls from the get go, read the book, print out the list of acceptable foods on Induction, hit the market and stock up on all the wonderful foods that are available to you during this phase of Induction.
You'll find warm, non judgmental support here, 24/7 365 days a year by people who belive in Atkins, themselves and - you.
Welcome!
Peter

Welcome to our

You have come to the best place for support, advice and encouragement :hugWondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
