  • Question about Diet Cola ... HELP!

Hi everyone, this is my second time starting Atkins. The last time I did it, I lost 10lbs, but I wasn't be able to maintain the result. So I'm deciding to try again and stay true with the rule. I have many many confusion..even though I read most of the book.

    1. How do you count carb on Diet coke?
The bottle always say 0 carb. Do we count it as 1 net carb. I kept drinking it because I have a big sweet tooth.

    2. Can I eat as much meat as I want?
Some said we have to control the fat intake. It's very hard to measure the 65% of fat, etc...I'm a college student so I just make up the meal as I go along. I don't have time to cook for the whole day..even though I tried.

    3. Is it ok not to exercise as much?
I don't really like to work out..that's why I chose Atkins. Or am I wrong?

Thank you so much for everyone's help. I'm lost.
Current weight: 117lbs (7th day of Inducion phase).
    Weight goal: 100-90lbs

I'll try to answer your questions!

    Answer to #1:

Nutrition labels are tricky. Basically, the only thing the Zero carbs on the label tells you is that it's less than one carb. So even though it says 0 on the label, it could actually be .99999 .... so it's just better to count it as one

You can eat as much meat as you want until you are satisfied, which is a lot different from being full. It's true that we don't have to count calories, but it doesn't mean they don't matter. As far as the percentages, somehow add in to your daily menu 2 tbsp of mayonaise (Make some deviled eggs? :3), or just use extra butter in a recipe. Don't go overboard with it, but make it so that your daily intake of calories is coming in from more than meat (or else you'll be getting too much protein).

Exercise is just as important! Our bodies are designed to be the most efficient as possible - and that means spending as little energy as it can. Eventually, even if you follow the diet to the tee, your body will start burning less calories to maintain every day activies because that will be the most efficient - after all, you're not using it for anything else.

Go to walmart and buy one of the DVD's that have those 10 minute work outs! Just pick two out of whatever's on there and do that 3 times a week (or 5 if you have time). You can also do other things to get your exercise like parking further away from college campus and walk at a brisk pace, etc. ... Lots of things you can do without actually having to "work out" :P

If a tree falls in a forest out of hearing range of any living organism, did it make a sound?

If a person eats yummy stuff without counting the carbs, did it have carbs to begin with?

I truly believe that diet colas are the cause of obesity here in the world and one way to lose weight is to quit drinking those nasty, unhealthy things. Water is much better and will help you with you weight loss.
For the best results, you should eat around 60 percent fat, 35 protein and 5 carbs.
