  • How do you count your carbs!

Hi there! This is my second time around on the Atkins plan,i am 5 days in and very hyperactive lol, lots of energy and feeling great, never even got the Atkins Flu this time.
Anyway, one of the reasons i quitted last time was counting carbs, basically not counting them properly every day, quessing how many carbs in food, making it impossible move onto OWL!
How do you count your carbs, do you write it down everyday, plan meals for week and calculate, have your own little book, could anyone share any oftheir tips with me, i am going to suceed this time around.

    Thanks
    Danielle

There are several websites around where you can log your foods as well as other stuff. I use www.fitday.com now but initially (before I found ADBB) I just wrote down the carbs in a notebook using mainly the carbs chart in DANDR as well as info from labels.

I liked using fitday on induction as it allowed me to write down what I intended to eat the next day in advance so I could 'tweak' it if needed which was very useful at the beginning.

Nowadays as I am fairly confident in my choices I still log my foods as a matter of habit, usually in the evening just to confirm I chose wisely.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I still log foods into Fitday most days. It's become a habit and I've gotten pretty fast at it. It helps to have lots of foods listed on your "Favourite" list (that's on the PC version...not sure about the online one).

Re: How do you count your carbs!

I'm a return to Atkins (well, in the past it was "sorta Atkins, not really Atkins"), and as the others have mentioned, I'm using FitDay. Since I'm a stay at home mom, I log as I go, and love the pie chart at the bottom of the page to show my balance between fat, carbs, and protein.
