  • Has this happened to you?

Hi there! I am on 1 week into Induction with no problems, i suffered badly from Induction Flu last time i did this plan last April.
This time around i was fine first 5 days, lots of energy. From day 6 and today i have been quite ill, thumping headache, tired. Has anyone got the Atkins Flu a week or two after starting the plan?
I do know it will pass, just thought it was strange.

    Thanks again
    Danielle

Hi Danielle, I am on day 13 of induction and was also fine the first week, but started to feel the induction flu around day 9. Starting to feel a bit better now.

It is not unknown, so be reassured you are not alone
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Dr. Atkins says that there is no reason for people to suffer and that if you are going through flu like symptoms, you should try eating more veggies.

Danielle, I was a late bloomer, too, with the induction flu. I had it into the third week. But it did eventually pass!

I think, as DBL... said, that making sure you are getting all your veggies helps.

Dannie28 - You are not alone. I remember the first time around on induction by day four I wondered if it was all really worth it. This time... it didnt hit me until day seven. You just bite the bullet and it will go away... drink a lot of water + the veggies. In a day or two it to will go away.

You must want to fly so much that you're willing to give up being a caterpillar.

Re: Has this happened to you?

I'm now on day 6 and had a funky day yesterday with the headache and such. The veggies help keep things "moving". Since constipation is associated with the induction process, the need for veggies (for fiber) makes sense...."stuff" not "moving" can lead to toxins to recycle back into the blood stream leaving one with a headache and other flu like symptoms.

Yeah, the veggies and water...flush it all out! Too, with all the great bulletin board support, it will seem a breeze to let it pass.
