I know this is part of induction but this morning I couldnt lift my head off the pillow. I have no energy and last night i had to take two imitrex for my migrain that wolk me up out of my sleep. I'm not hungry which is a good thing.

The funny thing is I knew last night after eating all that lox that my weight would either stall or go up from all the sodium. There is soooo much salt in salmon lox style!!! IT JUST TASTED SO DAMN GOOD lol. So today i'm up.4 a pound but my choices will have alot less sodium in my foods i eat today.

Even though I gained I still (BODY WISE ) feel good. I just wish this tired thing would go away. HOW AM I GOING TO DRIVE MY HOUR AND A HALF HOUR COMMUTE TO LONG ISLAND??

I would drink a lot of extra water Today. It will flush the extra sodium out.

Yes, Induction Flu sucks, doesn't it? :hug
I remember my face hurting...right under my eyes..I guess it was a sinus thing, but I wasn't sick, they just hurt and it felt like my head was going to fall off. NO fun at all. :nono

Drink your water, and watch your intake of high sodium foods, and be a tough little soldier...it's going to pass, and once it's over, it's over!

This is just from personal experience of my wife and I. We found during induction, and even now, that by having an Atkins shake in between meals gives us more energy.

Induction is a time to re-learn to eat, and at ADBB we encourage everyone to choose fresh, natural food sources from the Acceptable Foods list instead of turning to processed frankenfoods.

Lots of folks have issues with sweets, and for those people, having a bar or a shake would be counterproductive at this early point in the Atkins journey.

Grab a protein/fat snack if you are hungry...a boiled egg is perfect and portable as well. :yes pepperoni and cheese is yummy and feels like an illegal treat (to me anyway!)

It's up to everyone to make the decision on this, but personally, I know for sure what kind of impact a boiled egg is going to have on my body and my weight loss, and I'm dicey about what a shake would do.

              thank you thank you

I drank 48 ounces of water already and im on my next 48 that I will finish before the end of my work day! I love drinking water it makes me feel sooo good and alive. I think it takes a small part of my headaches away too which is a good thing because i'm a migrain sufferer.

Can I tell you something a little gross. I cooked a 100 percent beef patty this morning for my lunch today and I put it in a rubermade container. Well when I went to open it for lunch all the fat congelled on the top and sides of the burger. I scraped it off and there was a huge white fat residue in the container so I wiped that off as well b4 I ate it. I cant believe how much fat came from one little 100 percent beef burger.

Wish me luck on the no headache thing i'm already on day four and i want to be able to get through this. With all of your support I think I can

I turned down pizza today at lunch. Something I normally would have gorged myself on AND WOULD TRIGGER OTHER BAD FOOD S FOR ME LIKE SUGARS ARGH I WAS SUCH A SUGAR ADICT!!!!!!. It had sauges and peperoni on it. and you know I cant see the lable on these processed meat items so TODAY i choose not to eat it at all. besides it was proberly filled with sodium and unnecceassary hidden carbs!!!! YEAH FOR ME

Instead of the shake do what Moochie suggests and have a high fat/protein snack

A cube of cheese (even cream cheese - you'd be surprised at how wonderful that makes you feel - I think it's the creamy texture that is comforting)

Pepperoni, either straight up, fried or nuked till crispy

Boiled egg (or, if you've the time, make devilled eggs and have them on hand - seems like an indulgence)

                  Olives

                  1/2 an avocado

One thing I love to do with my olives is to put them in a small container with a little olive oil and Italian spices, and then dump them on my salad at lunch time. Makes it like a dressing for the salad, as well. Sometimes I put all the "wet" veggies together in that container, and then mix them with the greens when I'm ready for lunch.

Sardines are a great snack (not everyone likes them, however).

A nice big dill pickle (not fat or protein, but sometimes it's a great snack, anyway).

cmcole, those are great suggestions. After work I am going to the super market. I'm so excited.

2 1/2 hours after lunch I was a little hungry so I had a cup of lettuce with tuna mixed with mayo.

hmmm. what am i going to have for dinner? I think I am going to make a steak and have a cup of veggies with it. Oh yeah and LOTS OF H2O!!!

Love you all & thanks for your support

I cant wait till next week so I can continue the induction but my headaches will be gone and my energy will be back!!!!

No luck involved here, just time, patience, and faith in the program. You can do it! Only a day or two to go and this'll all be a memory. :yes

Do you realize how important it is that you made this connection?!
                      Good for you!!! :joy
We all have SO much power over what we put in our mouths, and you just proved to yourself that you are the one in control here, not the food!

I call this 'conscious eating'...where you stop and think about your food choice, and make your decision according to whether it's included in the plan, and not because you were happy/sad/pressured by co-workers.

                      AWESOME job...well done! :icondance

Be cautious about pickles and sardines as they contain a lot of salt, which causes fluid retention. It's important to read lables. Talk about so called "Franken food", the body was never meant to digest the the quanity of sodium found in these and many foods like them. It's contradictory to say, "avoid processed foods" and then to risk damage to heart, kidneys and other ogans by consuming large amounts of salt. A can of sardines, for example will sometimes give you more salt than the FDA reccomends on one whole day!
                          Again,
                          REad labels
                          Hope this helps,

Last night was torture because I had the migrain of the century!!!! But I did not I repeate DID NOT GO OFF THE PLAN. and you know what after 3 hours alot of ice packs and a massage to my neck I was ok.

This morning I feel really good. I hope not to jinx it!! (seenikrun knocks on wood 50 times). I already have drank 1 1/2 quarts of water. I will be drinking more all day.

I had chicken with a cup of veggies and a piece of cheese for breakfast. Lunch is going to be a hamburger pattie 100 percent beef no fillers with an omlette and a cup of veggies.

PS im peeing every half hour LOL. Its good though because the bathroom is upstairs and its excersise just getting there LOL

                            Thanks again for your support
                            much love,

I'm so sorry that you have migrains! My sister gets those occasionally and it's awful to see her like that. Hopefully the change in diet combined with having a properly hydrated body will be a new start for you and those will be a memory.

Every time you pee just think of it as toxins being flushed out of your body! That's what I did and still do!

Out with the bad, in with the good! lol

Hope you have a great day!
