  • Ketosis Breath, I think...

A bit sweet, not exactly "normal", but not really bad, either? Does that sound like ketosis breath to you? I am not using the ketosis sticks, because I lost weight beautifully my first week (7 pounds! Woo hoo me!) and I have been feeling good.

It's interesting if it is, because this is the first day I've gone over my allotted carbs (only by 3, though). My explanation (note: an explanation is not the same as an excuse!) is that I was caring for a sick son last night...so today I've been tired, I have not wanted to eat enough of the right veggies and I allowed myself too much cream today).

Anyway, I was just curious. Today is the first day that I really felt challenged by the plan, and while I didn't make all the right decisions, I do not feel that I sabotaged myself. I made a few mistakes. I'll note them, be prepared in the future (uber tired Mary = wants a lot of cream), and will establish an emergency plan (but that will have to wait until tomorrow, after a goodnight sleep, and therefore more functioning brain cells!).

Apparently my fatigue is getting the better of me, and I'm babbling like crazy...

Dr Atkins described ketosis-breath as a sweetish smell, so it sounds right to me, Mary

As for overdoing the carbs not affecting ketotsis, it would depend on whether you went over your own personal carb limit, which you will find out on OWL.

Well done for being able to take note of what caused you to eat more than you had planned and working on future strategies for avoiding it in the future
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Another mistake I made yesterday was not enough water...I wonder if that's why I was able to notice the change in my breath. Well, off to get another cup of water!
