Is it just me, or do some foods taste different after a couple days on induction?

Re: Food tastes different?
It depends on what you mean by "different". For me, veggies are starting to taste really sweet. But my meats taste the same, for the most part.Aoife - 18, Female, 1.69 metres (5'6.5")

The thing I noticed is that foods just taste better.
While I was sick, some food developed a strange off-taste, but I don't believe it was due to Atkins.

Re: Food tastes different?
Vegetables taste sweeter because we aren't bombarding our tastebuds with the sugary-sweet taste anymore. A few years ago, I remember someone writing that they used to add sugar to Coca Cola because it wasn't "sweet enough" for them. And it was pointed out that our tastebuds get used to an intensity of flavors so that it isn't sweet enough or spicy enough, etc. That's why some folks can eat habanero peppers and others can barely eat a drop of hot sauce on their food.
So you will be amazed that the foods you eat will start tasting "different"---you'll notice the natural sweetness in vegetables. In fact, when you move to OWL Phase and you add berries to your menu---watch out! I found strawberries to be incredibly sweet: even when my family were pouring sugar over their portions because the strawberries were too "sour", I found them to be too sweet and needed to eat them with something tart, like sour cream, in order to make them edible.

Re: Food tastes different?
I can't say I've noticed a difference personally but maybe that's because I'm a smoker.
How does it taste different for you?
